Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday as planned, but I had some technical difficulties!! I am back on track now.

My share for today is a card using the beautiful DSP "Bella Rose". I just love the colors in this paper. I used Cameo Coral as my card base and rolled it through my Big Shot to emboss the front. Then I created a layered strip using the DSP, Cameo Coral punched with the Eyelet Border Punch and then a top piece of Very Vanilla. Then I tied a piece of Satin Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla ribbon and secured the knot with a felt flower and brad. I adhered the strip to the front of the card with Sticky Strip and only adhered 3 sides so I would have a pocket. Then I punched a Large Scallop Circle with the Big Shot die, turned an edge over and secured it with another felt flower and brad. I added some embosslet flowers and stems for a finishing touch. Then I finished the card front with a greeting from "Eight Great Greetings" layered on a scallop punch.

This was a fun card to put together. I hope you enjoyed it!! Tomorrow we will see some butterflies.

New day, new colors, but the same stamp set and DSP

Hello stampers! Today I want to share with you another card that uses The designer series paper "Walk in the Park" and the stamp set "Soft Summer". But the look is totally different. It is a many layered card once again but starts with a base of Basic Gray then is layered with an embossed layer of Cameo Coral and topped with a piece of DSP that incorporates that mix of colors. I stamped the image in Cameo Coral and then left it plain without coloring for a different look. I added half pearls to the bottom of the layered strip then mounted the strip over the DSP. My final touch was the greeting stamped in Coral and layered with the new Scallop Oval Punch. I really like the look of this new punch. Add some ribbon on the layered strip and a brad on the greeting and your card is done. Now doesn't this look so different than what I shared yesterday?

Now don't those colors look great together? This is once again a color selection that I would not have put together, but the DSP does such a great job of combining those colors. I have a second card to share which is a slight variation of the card I just showed you.

Sorry that the scans are skewing the colors just a bit. Believe it or not, the blue is Baja Breeze in both cases, but the first card did not get the colors quite right. So much for depending on true to color scanning!! I changed the previous card by using silver accessories and by adding a second layer to the Dogwood flower and then finishing the flowers with a half pearl in the center and adding some Crystal Effects to the petals. Although the first card was cute, this second card has a more elegant feel to it because of the silver and the Crystal Effects on the petals looks really good IRL.

TOUR 2 - STOP 7 - "WALK IN THE PARK DESIGNER PAPER"

Welcome to stop 7 on blog tour number 2! You are going to love what you see today.

For my first card, I want to share with you a 5x5 card featuring the designer series paper "Walk in the Park". I have three layers on the base card with the DSP highlighting the left side. So Saffron is the base with Baja Breeze as the middle layer. I love the way the DSP works those colors together - I would never have thought to put them together on my own. I made this into a buckle card using the same three layers. The greeting is from the new stamp set "Oval All" found in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I also made this a card for Dad by using the Dad stamp from "Eight Great Greetings". I mounted this stamp on Baja Breeze and then placed it on a large scallop that I punched out of cardstock vellum with the large scallop die on my Big Shot. I like the interest that the various layers create. The final item I included is embossed So Saffrom cardstock that I mounted on the right side of the card. A few accessories were also added to give the card a final touch.

The second card I am sharing uses a pastel So Saffron print. I layered the DSP on Pink Pirouette and then on a So Saffron base. I punched a cute paper vellum envelope using the Stampin'Up! mini envelpe die. Then I created a tag with several layers that included Mellow Moss. I like the way the Mellow Moss works with the saffron on this particular print. The stamped image is from Soft Summer and I used  soft color of Pink Pirouette to color in the image. I added a bit of Pink Pirouette that was embossed and placed it on the bottom of the card. Add some ribbon, brads and half pearls create the finishing touch.

Be sure to check back tomorrow to see another card using a different color selection from the same designer series paper.

When stamping your cards, remember to stamp an image inside the card and you can even add a stamped image to the envelope.

True Friend

Today I would like to share with you my version of a sketch that I found on Mary Jo Albright's blog "Beauty Lies Within". I made my card very simple as I intend to use it for my technique class tonight which will be the "Faux Silk" technique. The scan does not show the silk technique very well, but it looks fine in real life. I also combined the card color challenge from splitcoast with this card. The CS is Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray and Whisper White. I used the 1 1/3" and 1 3/8" circle punches and Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon. The stamping uses Red Rose Classic ink. Here is the sketch I used:

Thumping Technique

Today I want to share with you 2 cards that my stampers made a one of my recent technique classes.

The first card uses the large scallop die for the Big Shot. We alternated Whisper white for the inside and Close to Cocoa for the outside. We then stamped Upsy Daisy in Baja Breeze and "thumped" the stamp with a Close to Cocoa marker before we stamped the image on the white oval. The layers were assembled on Baja Breeze DSP and then on a Close to Cocoa base. A bit of Baja Breeze striped ribbon gives it the finishing touch. Everyone also stamped "You're on my mind" with Baja Breeze on Whisper White for the greeting on the inside of the card.

The second card we did was modeled after a card I made at an upline meeting I recently attended. Thank you Jane Kissel for the inspiration!! I concentrated on the colors from Rainbow Sherbert DSP. Those colors are so fresh and bright and I am really liking them right now. Everyone stamped the image from Eastern Blooms in Apricot Appeal and then "thumped" the stamp using a Tempting Turquoise marker. Then the image was stamped on a rectangle of Whisper White CS and layered on Gable Green. A top note die cut was punched from Apricot Appeal to mount the flower on and then "Easter Wishes" was stamped as a greeting. A strip of Sherbert DSP, add tempting Turquoise for the bottom of the card front , a bit of ribbon around the top note die piece and then mount on a Gable Green CS base. An easy to make and very cute card. Add a piece of cardstock on the inside and write your message.
